Meet Chica, a 7 year old American Blue Nose Pit Bull Terrier
COURTESY LISTING - PLEASE CONTACT: francinejacobsallen@gmail.com Chica is a physically beautiful dog and has been very well cared for; she has current shots and medical records and is spayed.
She does well at a kennel where she is one of many dogs that have been screened for aggression and are within sight of a person who understands how to work with dogs. She has, however, leash aggression and is unpredictable off leash when encountering another dog. We live in an isolated setting and she spends the day, when I am home, outside on a 100' leash (that I often disengage from something it's lodged on) or lying next to me on the floor. I live alone. When a visitor comes, she gets very excited, will jump up unless I have her on leash, but will settle down after about 4 minutes. She's still mouthy at 7 years and needs something in her mouth to prevent her from mouthing people's hands or biting at their clothing. She requires monitoring and attention when someone arrives.
She is quite strong but good on a leash and I can confidently handle her on a harness although I am quite small -- about 105 lbs. She is 45 lbs., an American Blue Nose Terrier with, people who know the breed remark, some mix -- maybe retriever or beagle.
She will easily switch allegiance to a new person -- she seems always to be seeking a new best friend when she meets people. She overwhelms people with her enthusiasm.
Ideally, she'd be with someone who lives a solitary life and loves canine companionship. Chica is a devoted animal and demonstrably grateful for acts of care and kindness. She is energetic and loves physical activity.
