We are a very small foster based rescue in desperate need of help. We have a very sweet dog named Rex in our group who is not good with other dogs. He is a Lab/English Pointer mix. He has a very strong hunting instinct which seems to be the cause of his issue with other dogs. When we rescued him from the shelter we thought he was good with other dogs, but unfortunately that was not the case. Like I said, we are an all foster rescue. All of our fosters have other dogs so we have no place for him. We have had him in boarding for 4 1/2 months now, all the while trying to find him a home with no other dogs. We have not had any success. The boarding facility said that come July-August they will no longer be able to keep him there since they are always very full during that time. We have no place for him and really need to find him a loving home. Not to mention the fact that we feel very bad for him since we can tell he is not happy there. He wants to be in a home, be loved, get to go on walks, and run in the backyard. We would be very grateful if you would be willing to do a courtesy posting for us and/or post him on social media so he can get more exposure and hopefully find a forever home. We would be willing to adopt to someone in California, Oregon, Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, Idaho, Washington, Colorado, or Nevada. We do home checks so generally only adopt in our area (Southern California), but if it means finding Rex his forever home we are willing to travel farther.

 

Rex is a 50 lb four year old Lab/English Pointer mix who would love an active family who goes on walks, hikes, and/or runs. He is a very sweet dog and loves all people. Due to his high prey instinct he doesn't get along with other dogs or cats. He loves to play with toys and chew on bones. He also likes to play fetch but is still learning how to bring it back. He is neutered, up to date on his shots, microchipped, and house trained.
