Meet Meelah, a sweet Chihuahua/Terrier mix
Meet Meelah, a Chihuahua/Terrier mix. She is approximately 5 years old and came to us from a high kill shelter. She was so frightened at the shelter that she was deemed unadoptable so we stepped in and took her. Once she was away from the shelter, her true personality came shining through! This little girl is a big lovebug. She wants nothing more than to sit on your lap to get some lovin'! Although she loves to play with other small dogs, she sometimes does not like to share her lap. She would do best in a home without other dogs or with someone experienced enough to help her work out her jealousy issues. She does well with kids over the age of 10 (she hasn't been around younger kids while in our rescue) and leaves cats alone as long as they stand their ground (unless they want to play). She may chase a kitty if the kitty runs away. She loves to follow you around the house and just wants to be with her person. She's a bit of a special case as she has some fear issues. She's unable to go to adoption events because it terrifies her. The vet terrifies her. Being held by strangers terrifies her (she shakes and curls her lip but has never bit anyone - she's trying to scare you away). She's a big love at home but will need a home with someone full of patience and love to help work with her issues. She needs someone that can look past her fear and see what a sweet dog she can be.
