Edward VI was Henry VIII’s son and heir. Edward died young and named as his successor, his cousin, Lady Jane Grey. She ruled for just nine days. Edward had two half sisters, Mary and Elizabeth. Mary deposed Lady Jane Grey and had her beheaded. Mary died of cancer but named Elizabeth I as her heir. Elizabeth I ruled England for almost 50 years and ushered in the Elizabethan era. Elizabeth was the last Tudor ruler of England. |
