Winston has a partially developed left eye, and some hearing loss, but you would never know with his personality. He came to the shelter with an injury to his left, hind leg. The vet assumed it was from being caught in rope or wire. The injury has healed beautifully, and he is running, and chasing the other dogs just fine.
Winston is currently living with a foster family in Santa Rosa. He gets along really well with their two Labrador Retrievers. He is also great with children of all ages.
Because, Winston is still a puppy, he will need some training. He has a great deal of energy, but tires easily with squeaky toys and chasing games. Winston does not like to be separated from his people very long. He will bark, if left alone outside, but he does really well if put in his crate. That is his "safe" spot. He knows that when he is in his crate, he will be fine. He sleeps very well in his crate at night, and will only whine to come out in the morning.
Winston also has a tendency to by "mouthy" and "bitey", because he is a puppy, but with redirection, and chew toys this will be something that he will outgrow quickly. He is also very affectionate, and loves to give kisses. He will lick your face and neck until the cows come home!
The person that adopts Winston will be very lucky indeed. He is a joy to be around and a very sweet dog. If you have questions or would like to meet Winston, please call or text his foster Mom, Sylvia, at (209) 610-7603.
