Meet Amelia! I’m a medium sized (~50lbs) Border Collie mix.  I am located IN San Jose.  I’m your best friend indoors and have enough energy and love to go around. I love to cuddle up! I love to play ball, although my favorite part of that game is “keep-away!” I am micro-chipped and up-to-date on all my shots. I am very obedient indoors and housebroken, though when I get too excited or anxious I may lose focus or chew one of my toys to calm myself. I’m a smarty pants and know a handful of commands and would love to learn more! I am trained to use the potty in a set tanbark area of my yard! I make a great guard dog and will alert our family of noises and people coming to the door but also bark sometimes when I am nervous. I will quiet down once you are with me to calm me down, though. I am quiet at night and sleep well.

I am fearful of dogs on leash but I get along great with family member’s dogs, so I may be a good fit for family with another older/mellow dog that is still up for a bit of rough and tumble play or some fetch, but will be happy cuddling up together for a good nap. I am great with children and give the toddler I live with tons of love, but I do require lots of exercise and attention, so families need to make sure they have that time and energy to give. Would your child love to play ball with me every day after school, or cuddle up with me while watching their favorite evening TV show? I know I sure would! And hey, a big fenced backyard certainly doesn’t hurt! With the right attention, consistent structure, and regular exercise I will be your best friend and perfect companion.

Do you think you could make room in your hearts and your family to be my new forever home?

We ask for a $150 rehoming fee for Amelia that will be donated to a dog rehoming organization. E-mail Kristi atkristianna.dill@gmail.com for more information
